5,000 mile impressions:

I still love this fucking thing.

It's been a joy in the corners even though for all but 1,200 miles or so I've been driving it with Bridgestone Blizzak Funsucker tires instead of the regular Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric Gripmonster Beastmode awesome ones.

I wish I have been able to enable sport mode the past 4 months.

I have become acutely aware of how the engine stops making boost at around ~6100 RPM.

Because of the previous point, I really wish I had 3200 bucks to spend on a Mountune MR300 upgrade package.

I still wish GTIs would chill the fuck out.

28,000 miles in on my '14. I agree on all accounta, except even with the $3200 I wouldnt tune mine. Stock with warranty is my style. I have more Speed3's that need to calm down.

14k on my silver ST1 and I agree as well. That being said, I hardly ever get challenged to races. I once raced a charger (and won), but that was it. Silver STs really blend in.

1 turn on sport mode everyday anyway, if not race mode.

2 buy access port from mounting and put tune on only. You don't need any other parts although a bigger intercooler would play nicely with the tune.

3 love it even more

4 sport mode and race mode are hilariously fun in the snow and dry on snow tires if you're paying attention...
